New Roof!

Ahh, home ownership. Why is this something that is so desirable again?

We were told when we moved in that the roof was on it's last leg. That was over 6 years ago. Well, we have procrastinated about as long as we could. There were straight up bare wood spots showing.

So far, I'm not terribly impressed with the professionalism of the workers, but if the finished product is quality, I will be fine with the random stretching out on my front porch, leaving trash in the carport overnight, etc.

I'll be sure to get a pic of the finished product. Until then, we are trying to be out of the house lest our ears keep ringing with the sound of the nail gun.

First Haircut

Well, this was supposed to be an improvement over the hair in her eyes (see previous ice cream post) but she kept wiggling and wiggling and they got shorter and shorter. They actually look much better in live-action real life, but I will admit that I kind of failed Lily on her first haircut.

Cousins

Amanda and Stu are visiting. Soooo fun to have cousins the same age!

A big purchase!

We have been looking around for about a month for new living room furniture. Many of you may recall the hand me down sofa shown below. Not comfortable, old and too little seating for more than 2 people. This all came up because of my aching pregnant body. And we had the money in savings, so we made the decision. Plus, it looks like we aren't moving away as quickly as we had thought 5 years ago...

After learning all about new vs used, genuine leather vs bonded leather, microfiber vs polyester, AND which would endure well for the price, we finally found a winner!

We got a textured microfiber sofa and loveseat in chocolate brown. We love them! We can both lay out and be facing each other in our living room for the first time ever! And, we have seating for guests! So come on over and take a rest on our new set.

Happy

I have realized that if I have free time these days, I choose to sleep. Blogging is pretty low on my priorities. Therefore, I have reinstalled Blogger for Droid and at least something will get posted more often.

This is my current reason for being happy. Summer = ice cream. We have discovered that JCWs gives mega yummy soft serve cones in grande sizes for a buck. Woot! Usually, James and I get one each and share with Lil. The other day, however, they messed up and gave us two little ones and a big one. Being prego and honestly a little piggish, I quickly claimed the big one. For the first time ever, Lil got her OWN cone to hold. She was delighted beyond words. What can we expect, her mommy comes from a long line of ice cream lovers. Anyone who knows my parents and grandparents can attest. We are suckers for that stuff.

Anywho, one of these days I will post a belly shot. I'm looking down the barrel of 31 weeks. 8 weeks seems a million years away! Alas, we are nonetheless very happy.
